can anybody tell me if i gave you my national insurance number could tell me my birthday

I dont believe there is a link between your NI number and your birthdate... certainly there isnt looking at mine!

However, it used to be the case (I dont know if it still is) that your driving licence number was related to your birthdate.

firstly, dont ever give your nat ins nuber or any other personal numbers to anyone !!!!

i would say there is a way of working a persons age from their nat ins number.. i suspect there is more to the way the number is set up than being random.

driving licences do carry your date of birth in a sort of easy to unravel code...

Try looking on your birth certificate if you want to know your birthday. I have to say I am quite surprised that you have forgotten it - have you had a bump on the head?

Im pretty sure the first letter on your NI number is relevant to the year of birth. But thats it and I agree with all above never give it out to anyone.

I work for the inland revenue (now HMRC), and can confirm there is a link between bday and N.I.no.

Often, twins have consecutive numbers.
