I sold an item on ebay and said that I only ship to the UK

Unfortunately someone in Norway has bought the item! How do i go about cancelling the bid after the auction has ended?

Funny enough, just this week I bid on an item, but was beaten, then for some reason the winner pulled out, and I got the second chance offer, which I snapped up.
you could always post it to them and ask for extra cash - its as easy to send either way really, just costs more
On one of the menus is an option to send an "unpaid item" request to the buyer. One of the unpaid item reasons asks him to confirm an error in the auction. If you both agree to this, the whole thing is anulled and you dont get charged the final amount fee, and can relist the item.
I am always intrigued to know why sending something abroad is such a challenge - US sellers are particularly xenophobic and even when I ask them to send to a relative in the US they go so far as to send me my money back in horror because they don't want to deal with foreign buyers (but have not said so in their blurb). After all, sending is sending is sending, so long as the buyer pays the additional cost to his/her foreign destination it is hardly differrent - although receiving is sometimes another matter but that is entirely the buyer's problem.
I would be very wary, as this has happened to me several times on EBay and the buyer has always turned out to be bogus. They asked for bank details and when I refused they did not pay up. They also claim to need a shipping order before being able to pay, which is a way of getting the item and not paying. I had to report them to EBay and claim my fees back.

IT IS A SCAM
Question Author
I'm not going to agent4 - read the question!

It's not necessarily a scam.

Yes, it's possible that it is, but just because someone is incapable of reading that an item is only available to UK bidders doesn't necessarily follow that they are crooks.

Having said that, dealing with non-Brits can be a pain - I once had a French buyer decide that paypal (which in itself is risky) wasn't good enough, so he sent me Euros. And he'd rounded down the amount, too.

End result? He got his goods by the cheapest method I could send them, and I discovered that M&S take Euros.

If the buyer is prepared to pay you in a way you find acceptable, and he's prepared to pay the extra to have the item shipped (some don't seem to realise that shipping a cheap piano doesn't make it a light piano and therefore it's costly) then go for it. Or second chance it if you prefer.
