They don't elvolve to suit an enviroment - they just freakisly happened to adapt to it better.

True enough. Not much of a question though!!! :-)
They don't just freakishly happen.. it's natural selection; survival of the fittest (genes). Search; 'Darwin' and 'Superbugs'
It is wrong to term mutations as deformaties. They are naturally (most of the time) occurring changes within the genetic sequence. However a mutation which causes an advantageous characteristic to an individual of a population should give that individual a selective advantage. Would it be termed a deformity if through a mutation we were able to walk in a more upright manner?
