Above details of this song have eluded me for years and I can't find anything on the 'net' so far, but judging by your previous record (ouch ' not intended) I'm sure you lot can help. It's a lighthearted American number from around the late 70s early 80s I think. It's sung by a bloke who is smarming up to his new girl and trying to get her to stay for the night. It has a 'patriotic' notion as it has the line (something like) 'stay here for ever, at least wait until the late show' to the melody of the penultimate line of 'The Star Spangled Banner'. Also, on being told her name he speaks the words 'that was my mothers' name' in a true American heartfelt style''but all of it is done very tongue-in-cheek. It's not that I want the song, it's just one of those things that's bugged me for years 'cos I can't remember the details! Any ideas?
