A 1k rig possibly. That would be: a 1Kw power amp (main front of house), a less powerful monitor amp (2/300w), small mixing board (8, 12 or 16 channel), no monitor mixer necessary, just run the monitors from the auxillary's on the main board, 2 or 3 monitor speakers, 2 or more main speakers (with passive crossovers, possibly cone and compression drivers). Ooh, and don't forget yer cables. I'd hire it if I were you! You're looking at at LEAST a couple of grand, even second hand to buy it, unless you get a REALLY good deal. Happy gigging!
whoops, don't forget all your backline amps, the D.I. boxes, any outboard FX or dynamic signal processors, enough mics (say 4 for the kit, one for each singer), a stage box for the mic leads, erm, did I forget anything? Call that another couple of grand.
