I've lost the car key for an E reg Ford Fiesta, is there a way of replacing the key without the original to make a copy from? I've heard something about keys being able to be cut for old cars if you have certain information such as the chassis number, is this true?

The ignition switch and/or door lock may have a number on it. If so, a Ford dealer can get you a key to fit. The dealer will tell you if this is possible and how to get the trim off to find the number. I guess the dealer would also know if you can order a key with just the chassis number. Expect to pay about 30 for the key.
