Never tried, but perhaps if you use some odourless alcohol like vodka and mix in some genuine lemon oil which you might be able to get from a herbalist or health food shop, the end result might vaguely resemble a citronella perfume.

Citronella's only real benefit is as an insect repellant. You can buy the essential oil and dilute it in a carrier such as alcohol, as suggested above,


if you are using it as a repellant it will work, however if you are using it to attract someone, I would think again!
