It doesnt have to be 10, (though this is usually the lowest ammount allowed) it generally goes up in5 or 10 pound steps. You can top up loads of places nowadays, ATMs, shops, supermarkets etc
hi
When you buy a top up and go phone, either the mobile phone shop, where you have bought it from, will register a top-up card there and then for you, or you will have to register it yourself by ringing up the mobile phone company which you have bought from.
When that is done, you can carry your top-up card with you and go into any shop which tops up mobiles.
Present the card over the counter. You can top-up (put money on your phone to pay for calls) in places like Boots (hint: you can take advantage of the points for your advantage card if you have one), Woolworths, Argos, New Look, WHSmith, petrol stations and participating newsagents.
Simply ask for whatever amount you want to have for your mobile - 5, 10, 20 etc - and this amount will be what you will used for when you ring people or text them.
You can keep checking what your balance is by ringing it up from your mobile. Each mobile phone company has a different number for this, so you will have to find this out from your instruction manual.
Are you buying a new mobile phone? Hope this helps and good luck
