Unwanted faxes

I am gettingUnwanted faxes sent to my house probably about one or two a week I have called the number on the fax to get them to remove my number from their databank, I have also registered with the fax preference service, they are a body set up via B T to stop people like me from these unwanted faxes, I have been registered with them for 15 to 18 months and I have been sending all the unwanted faxes I have received as requested by the F P S they in turn write to me and explain how they are on my case and that the faxes should stop but they don't every week they still come through, I need my fax machine for my business, it is costing me time and money replacing the wasted fax paper they are using not to mention the fact that I have to re send the faxes of to the F P, (more of my time and money being wasted)
As you can tell I am extremely hacked off by these unwanted faxes!!!!

So here is my question I have the company's name and address it's written on the bottom of the fax they send, if I send them a letter (recorded and/or registered) telling them that I am willing to receive their faxes on my fax paper but I will after a certain date start charging them �5.00 per square inch off fax paper used by them, and as their faxes are the same size as a standard A4 sheet of paper it would therefore cost them around �480.00 per fax, would it hold up in court would I be able to sue them in the small claims court?????

I doubt it. Have you tried sending them a fax telling them to "FAX OFF"? Failing that, if you've got a firm address for them you could send the boys round. Just thought of another idea - get in touch with BT and tell them you're having problem faxes and want to change your number. Unless you've got the present number printed on stationery etc, this shouldn't prove to be an expensive measure. Good luck.

This is the latest in annoying marketing - Spam faxing (or junk faxing). The best advice is don't don't don't fax them as it's a premium line. Getting BT to change your fax number is a good solution but eventually the spammers will detect the new number (i don't know the technical reasons for this - are they dialing all numbers?). The best advice i can give is to have a computer become your fax machine so you can view the fax prior to printing it out.
