Should work - same system used in Europe and UK. You'll just have to retune and watch German shows. Don't forget your plug converter for the charger

This post might be too late if you're travelling for the weekend but I'll give it a try anyway:

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings but I think you might have problems with your TV in Germany. Although both countries use the PAL system, the UK uses the 'I' version but Germany uses the 'B/G' version.

When you tune in a channel on your TV, you're not actually tuning into one frequency but two. (There are two separate signals for sound and video). When you get a nice crisp picture on your TV, in the UK, the sound will also be 'spot on' because your TV is looking for a sound signal 6.0MHz above the video frequency and, in the UK, that's exactly where the sound signal will be.

When you take your TV to Germany, and tune in a perfect picture, the TV will still be looking for a sound signal 6.0MHz above the video signal. Unfortunately, the German TV sound signal is located only 5.5MHz above the video signal so it won't be properly tuned in.

You might be able to get some sort of reception but it will be hard to tune the TV to German stations without either getting a poor picture or poor sound.

I bought a German TV here but from friends bringing UK TVs out here they have to be adapted for German TV. I'm not sure if it's the same thing as Buenchico says but I understand it's a case of swapping the visual and sound connectors around within the TV. So with a UK TV you'll either get picture without sound, or sound without a picture (one of my friends here works for a satellite installation company and I'm sure he could explain it clearer).

However, if you buy a cheap German video then you can watch it through that no problem.
