some sites i believe do supply an electricity connection, with the same connection type as used by caravans, but i could be very wrong there.

you can also buy battery packs to keep in your car boot, that'll let you run basic stuff off them.
Scroll down this page to get the mains site plug (1.50)

The bit you can see plugs in to the mains and there will be a normal 3 pin socket at the other end for you to plug your applicance in to.

But what do you want electricity for?
Question Author
dont know just for bits like a radio etc, do you not think it will be needed then?
Camping with electricity? That ain't camping!

Hi saxo boi,

if you get a pitch with a mains hook up you will need a lead which has a weather proof plug on one end and a standard mains socket on the other. From memory some have a built in RCD for safety. There are some designed for caravans which have a similar style socket on the other end which plugs straight into the caravan which you dont want as you will want one with a standard socket on the end so you can plug in your appliances. They come in varying lenghts and current ratings.

I tend to use 12v lighting and just hook up a lead to the car battery. The lead consists of two crock clips and a cigarette lighter socket. Most 12v camping appliances are fitted with the appropriate plug.

Click here for a tent-approved mains plug-in electrical system that you simply connect into the site's main hook-up. At 45 it's not cheap but would do the job if you really must have mains power.

I would be surprised that your radio couldn't run on batteries for days.

I went camping several times and never needed a power supply.

electric hook up is good for electric cooler boxes, electric kettle, heater ect.ect. You camp how YOU want to camp not how other people think you should!!!!
