How can I set a PDF document (BBC World Cup Wall Chart) as my desktop background?

press print screen, paste in to paint, rub out the start menu the bits at top etc, make sure the you have got white all around it, make sure it is big, save it (as a JPG) then find where you saved it, and right click "set as background"

Many thanks potterfan, I'm going to try it now

My copy of Acrobat allows me to simply Save As.. and then choose an image format to save to. Maybe this is worth a look as well.
