Biro and Gel pens

Does anyone know how to get these working. I've got several that are full of ink but they just don't write. I tried putting them in hot water and managed to get one working but the others just sit there. It's so annoying.

When i was at school we would have a trick with Biro's of pulling out the ink tube and squeezing the ink in the tube down....only worked for a while though

Yes. I remember that one too. Unfortunately, the biros are sealed units and I can't get at the tube.

Heat the ball point carefully with a lighter.

Just put them near the telephone notepad like my wife does so when I have to write down an important number it doesnt work.
