Sorry if this isn't the right topic to post this. Anyone know why my Sky reception has gone really weird lately? One day the reception's fine, the next day only a few channels work, another day none at all, etc. I know it's not the box as I've tried another one with no success. If it was the weather, why didn't it do the same last year? I don't really want to pay nearly 70 just to get an engineer out unless I have to. Thanks!
we had this fairly recently and after contacting Sky and them doing various tests whilst I was on the phone to them, they eventually said I needed an engineer to call, yes 69 later we needed a new LNB thingy on the dish and since then it has been fine, the signal went right up. You can check the signal by looking on your tv, can't remember the exact procedure, would need to go through it stage by stage, but worth checking before paying out.
Thanks everyone. I liked electricblue's car satnav theory, as I was looking forward to going down the road with a hammer so I can watch the rest of the World Cup!
You'd be surprised matty how often it DOES happen, normally with BMW's parked out front, but if your dish is out of line by 2ml,that will knock your signal!
