virus scan

my computer has been switchingitselfoff now for quite a while when i go on various sites eg games sites in the vault. i tried to do a scan with windows which says there are 3 viruses but then the computer restarts itself again so i don't know if there are any more how can i find out how many viruses the computer has? does it keep switching itself off because off the viruses? thanks

the Sasser virus, and it's derivitives will switch off you pc..
