yesterday i went to visit my friends in hospital because they had a baby.
i arrived with my children,and was told that they could not go into the ward because of diseases such as measles etc,but any child of people who had given birth in the hospital were allowed.
how come?bit strange

rob - the hospital will have a family history of the newly delivered mother and will be aware of any potential health problems the siblings may pose to the new baby.

The hospital would have no knowledge of the health of your children, however.

correct me if i am wrong.
if my children walked to the hospital side by side with the new mothers children,on the same street,passing the same people.
would they not have the same chance of catching the same diseases.
Course they could, rob.

But who would the parent sue?
I live in Somerset and you have never been allowed to take children into maternity unless they are the new mothers children. Brenda
i suppose its just trying to minimise the risk - the more kids the more risk
its not so much of your children leaving infections,but the risk that that they can pick up infections,
