removing super glue from locks

My sister has just arrived home to find her front door locks have been super glued...can anyone say any tried and tested way's of removing this.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Not been unlucky enough, but it seems pretty much the only thing that disolves superglue is acetone as found in *most* nail polish remover. You might find it in things like paint thinner and similar substances.
If it's a round key type lock you're probably best off removing the front with a screwdriver and trying to wipe the surfaces with the acetone. If it's the flat key type, something like a nailfile coated in it might well work, albeit slowly.
If she wants in tonight however, maybe time to call a locksmith as acetone can take a while to work, especially trying to apply it this way.
Finally, be careful as acetone isn't the greatest stuff to have on your skin so best washed off afterwards.
