i usually get my �5 back on the hotpick1. last night i got �10 on the thunderball.

the whole point of those completely random games is that they earn money, not you. On average, you loose money. And you can't do anything to change that.
It is not worth trying.

And you do not win a tenner, you only win �9, they don't give you your original pound back... How many people match 3 numbers each week, thats a lot of money saved... If i won the jackpot they could keep my pound.
