a few months ago there was a series on the origins of country music. At the end of the very last episode in the series, there was a little on a popular female country music artist. One of the songs she performed was about a woman killing her husband. Apparently she didn't have any other instruments on her album apart from guitar. And she had a backing guitarist and back up vocalist, and that was it. What was her name?
This fabulous programme was a while back, so I'm struggling to think.... there are 2 names that come to mind - Gillian Welch and Alison Krauss. Both are on the 'O Brother, Where Art Thou?' soundtrack, which was used is the series.
