I want to connect 4 pieces of kit up they are- TV(with 2 scarts) ,a set top sky box (2 scarts) ,a surround sound system(4 scarts) and a dvd recorder/player that has 2 scarts .How is it done so that i can get full functions from all items.
I dont want to waste time and get it wrong.

I'd connect the TV to the DVD recorder via a scart. Then the Sky to the DVD via a scart. The Amp should be connected to the DVD via 3 phonos red/white/yellow and - if you want to and can do - connect the TV to the Amp using White/red audio phonos and if your sky box has phono outputs for sound - do the same for that so you can then toggle your amp to select different inputs from different sources e.g your sky box/DVD/TV. This allows whatever you are watching to be heard through your surround sound system. Your TV will only be in Stereo though. Your DVD should be in whatever sound you chose and your Sky sound will be in whatever the program is being broadcast in.
