Broadband usage limit

What does a "usage limit" actually mean? Is it downloads or time spent online?

We only download music very occasionally, and pictures fairly often but not of huge sizes or massive amounts. And emails, if they count. Usually text-only.

What would a 2GB monthly usage allowance allow us? And a 6GB monthly allowance?

The usage limit usually refers to your downloads.A 2GB is not that much, but it should more than cover the small amount of downloading you do.You should be able to download about 400 songs to use up 2GB.
Most companies have a fair usage policy and your downloading would not automatically stop if you reached 2GB.If you continuously went over your limit, your provider may decide to charge you, but they would normally send you a warning first.
