help. Password Problem.

I have been trying to place a password on a folder on computer. I have always opened file, went to Tools, Optopns, Security, then put password in. Now I find Optons on the Tools menu is not active so cannot click on it. Can someone out there help an amateur ? Thanks in anticipation.

Guessing you mean a Word doc. or something similar? File>save as then in the dialogue box that appears tools > security options or general options> opens a new dialogue box & voila. Hope that helps
