how long does it take to download a movie from the internet ? TIA

It all depends on aspects such as where your downloading it from ? who your downloading from (they could have old dial up and you have broadband) and more importantly how big the file that your downloading is ... so i'd say a 700mb file downloading from someone also on broadband might take around 4-5 hours, i may be wrong so i'm open to correction...

i have never downloaded a move before but i have heard that it can take a while. my daughter wants to download ' highschool musical' and if there are any suggestions as to the best place to download it from then info appreciated. thank you.

If its via a torrent site, this depends on the connection you have and also the number of "seeders" - mine is 1mb and if a film is well seeded (number of people and their relevant upload speeds) an average movie of 700mb or so will take about 2-3 hours to download - however these are from sites that depend on people uploading the equivelant amount they download or else people get banned, some of the public trackers have a lot of so called "hit and runners" who download and then dont upload back, so these can be slower.
Plenty of sites around, Sladinki007, piratebay , mininova for example if you google you should come across plenty.
