Ideal Mexico Boiler doesn't light up

We have an Ideal Mexico 2 Slimline boiler. Turned on the central heating for the first time yesterday. Lit up and worked. Today it will not. I follow the instructions to the letter. Made sure gas is open, the pilot light is on, but the burner just doesn't kick into action. Any help or advise appreciated.
