Sony Ericsson W850i - problems

I've just upgraded my Samsung D600 to a Sony Ericsson W850i. After the first day, the sound quality out of the speaker when using the phone has become really poor. Not only does the person you're speaking to sound tinny and echo, you can hear your speach echo and sound tinny.

I mentioned this to someone else with the same phone and she noticed the same thing a week or so after having the phone.

Anyone else had similar problems with this phone ?

I'm still within my 14 days, so I'm calling vodafone on Monday to exchange it.. and I'm going to try and get a Nokia or Samsung...
