I removed a motor from a auto washing machine, It has 6 wires coming from it in a plug type connection, the plug has 10 openings, but just 6 has wires, 4 are empty, it is a G.E. 5KC61GW15075 1/2 hp 1725 rpm 115v 60hz 8.7 A Thermally Protected. looking down at the plug the wires in order are, Black with white stripe, Black with maroon stripe, Orange, next holeblank, Green, next 3 holes blank, then Red, last one Purple. Maybe its not possible to use just 2 wires, maybe someone knows. Thanks----Early

It isn't possible to use just two wires. It's a synchronous motor, originating from the USA. All six wires are necessary to feed its commutator and electromagnets.
What is the problem you are trying to solve?

I was going to use the motor for another project, but don,t know which wires to use to get it to run.
It has six wires as it is coupled to an inverter, in order to allow it to run at various speeds and in both directions.

You would be better off taking a straight forward a.c. motor from a vacuum cleaner or tumble dryer or similar.
