When you say triangle maths I assume you mean trigonometry? I never was too good at this myself. However, the theory is quite simple. We know that a triangles angle add up to 180 degrees, yes? So if we have two angles, we can easily calculate the third. The difficulty starts, and I admit my failing here, is when we have one angle and the length of two sides, or one side and two angles. This is where trigonometry begins. Although I cannot help with detail, it works something like this. There are sines, cosines, tangents etc. Using tables, probably calculators now, by inputting the value of the known angles, we can calculate the other angles or length of the sides by calculating these known values through trigonometrically known values. This is where the sines, etc come in. The values are related through what is to me a complicated series of computations. Use the sine table, or your calculator to find these values. Sorry I cannot help more. It is still a foreign language to me!!!
Thank you for taking the time to answer my question, Upforit. However I think I should have explained that it is just a brain teaser type game I am struggling with and not proper maths. Your answer reminds me of my maths teacher at school reeling off all those big words that went completely over my head. The game is you either add or subtract 3 numbers then either add or subtract the result which gives you the answer. The game instructions give you an example with the answer but it just does not make sense to me.
Hi this is the answer I gave to the same question a few months ago. Hope it helps :-)
