Some advice needed please....
1 Answers
To cut a long story short....i am having problems with an internet based company from which i orderd a gift for someone before christmas...basically, i decided that i didn't want the gift, returned it via registered delivery well within the time they stipulated, in it's original packing, undamaged (they have a 'no quibble refund policy') This was at the beginning of december, and i am still awaiting the money to be refunded back into my account, and they promise to do this within 3 - 5 working days of recieving the returned goods.
I have spoken to 2 of their representatives,(who said they would chase it up) and also last week, i sent an e-mail (which has been replied to) saying that i will be taking the matter further if i hadn't recieved the money back into my account by this Friday gone (19th). I have recieved no refund as yet, and i am, if i'm honest, unsure of what action to take next, having said that i would take it further if need be...does anybody know what my next step should be? Any help / legal advice gratefully recieved, as i really do not want to let this matter drop. Thanks x

The company should refund the money as soon as possible but should take no more than 30 days from the day they received the item. Your next action would be to send a real letter by Recorded Delivery (not Special unless you want to pay another 4) informing them when the 30 days runs out, and that you demand a refund by this date or they will be reported to Trading Standards for breaching the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000. If not sorted, contact Consumer Direct on 08454 04 05 06 to report them as warned.
