For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.The problem is, Mind, that not everyone knows how to use search engines or, in some cases, that such things even exist. Some of the askers might be primary-school kids for all we know. It's best just to treat all questions as if they are genuine and all questioners as if they really do want help. Granted, repetitive questions are somewhat annoying, but they are only repetitive and annoying to us...not the questioners. Just 'slide on by' next time you see one or simply answer it. Cheers
Well, Jenstar, I certainly didn't find AnswerBank via a search engine...I found it because a similar site was closing and people there were asking what other such sites existed. The name and 'address' of AnswerBank came up in response to that. I daresay there are several dozen other ways in which people 'find' websites, too...seen on a friend's monitor, recommended by a teacher or whatever.
You only have to look at some questions to see, as plain as a pikestaff, that - if the questioner had any inkling about search engines - he/she would have found it easier to place the question there rather than here!
That also applies to,the occasional questions (you'll know what I mean) ie 'what is XXXXX' which can be found in most dictionaries in a minute, before you need to touch a keyboard. I'm not sure on the editorial policy of leaving these on permanently, as I agree this site is more for items that can't be looked up easily. Am I being an old grouch?
