halogen ceiling lights

can anyone tell me what i need to safetly board my loft floor when i have halogen lights in my bathroom ceiling some one told me its not possible as they create heat and would possibly start a fire but another person told me that there is something that you buy to box them off so it conducts the heat down???????? im confused as what to do

Go to an Electrical Wholesalers,tell them the sort of lights you have and ask if they have a fire hood,or shroud for them, this covers the back of the fitting and if a fault occured it would shrink to stop fire spreading. have a look at this link you will see what I mean, good luck, Ray
