blocked drain with rubber
4 Answers
After emptying a hot water bottle down the bathroom sink a couple of times I now find it is completely blocked with the bits of rubber which come out with the water. I have tried everything available off the shelf including sulphuric acid. The sink is boxed in and tiled so getting to it that way is a last resort.

Speaking as a one time polymer scientist, I agree with cleversod, the only things that might dissolve crosslinked natural rubber,
a. you wouldnt be able to get 'over the counter'
b. you wouldn't want to anyway
You need a)new ater bottle and b) a mechanical (not chemical) way of unblocking.
If a plunger doesnt do it (you can make a home made one from a plastic bottle with the right neck size), one of those bendy stick things might work since it is lots of little bits wedged together. Have you got a bit of hose?
