Dishwasher leaving top basket dirty

I have an Indesit dishwasher and just lately it has been leaving the top basket if things dirty. sometimes dirtier than went in. It seems to wash and just leave dirty water and debris on the things and doesn't rinse. any ideas please I would be grateful.

Maybe the rotating arm that sprays the top basket isn't rotating - either because it's stopped working or because you've put something in that's fouling it.

Had the same prob ourselves. Turned out the top arm was not locating properly in the water outlet when pushing back the top rack.
Engineer had to fit new seal on the top water outlet so the arm clipped back in OK.
Actually just waiting for the engineer to come yet again to repair our Hotpoint d/washer, sixth visit in a year!!! Told them I'm on the point of taking the **** machine to their offices and dumping it in reception.

Willowman (we have a willowman on the M5 ) My husband has taken it apart and it looks like a rubber seal has perished so is just going to get a new one. Many thanks once again. Brenda
