does anyone know the keyboard shortcut to change a section of text from all capitals or all lower case to the other? (like a retrospective caps lock!)

If you select all the text that you want to change, then go to the the format>font menu, on the right hand side of the menu you'll see a tick box for 'All Caps', select this and then Robert is indeed your mothers brother

As for changing capitals back to lower case...not sure

If you type as normal, follow ck1's advice to make all letters capitals.
If you then do the same, but remove the tick from the 'all caps' box, the letters will revert to lower case, but any original capitals you typed will remain as capitals.

thanks guys, that's helpful. the problem I have is that sometimes I'll write a load of stuff in caps without noticing and then have to go back and re-do it - anyone else got any more suggestions? I'm pretty sure I used to know a keyboard shortcut to swap them but can't for the life of me remember!!

or just highlight the text and press shift and F3 at the same time. press it til the text is the way you want it

On the format dropdown menu there is also an option for 'change case' if you select that you can change to lower case as well as other things

it's the shift and f3 option that Dan gives - a bloody lifesaver if you type looking at the keys...

yeah it was the shift f3 that i was thinking of - i used to know about it but forgot. it is so handy! thanks everyone
