i subscirbe to the online credit report each month,i received an alert to tell me that something had changed on my credit file.so i logged in and i found that the bank account i opened in june of last year has started to appear on my credit file.I only have a basic bank account,so why would it start to appear now ad not back in june when i first opened it...?,also why would it appear at all? Thanx

Possible suggestions:
1) Your bank has failed to notify the CRA about the update re bank acc.
2) The CRA has failed to update the info recieved on time
3) Your basic acc might not be basic afterall - Banks still do a CRA check to pass you as a non-IVA / INS customer.
4) They do afterall have 6 years to play catch up...

Another option (and imho most likely):
Your bank has now just signed up with the CRA and has previously been using a different CRA.
There are 3 CRAs and they all use the same procedure - if a financial institution (eg bank) gives them data about their customer, then the CRA will give them the data that they hold from the other financial institutions.
It is up to each financial institution as to which CRA they use.
