Pimples on thighs ?

Does anyone know what causes pimples on my thighs, bum and lowers legs, I get them on and off throughout the year, sometimes they are silky smooth, othe times pimple madness, they have not got heads on them, or puss in them just plian pimples, ???

I'm trying to see if it co-encides (cant spell it!) with anything i'm doing or not doing ? I go through phases of drinking 2l of water a day, then like most people I go off it, then back on it....? Could it be not rinking enough water to shift toxins under the skin ? Ive also noticed its better when i've had my booty out in the sun, could this be lack of air ? or vitamin D (from the sun) ?
It gets me down a bit ?? any answers

I think you'll find the correct medical term for this is "it's just one of those things." It's nothing to do with your fluid intake - our bodies do need 2 litres of water a day but we get most of this from our food and regular drinks. Drinking an additional 2 litres will just make you wee more! Vitamin D is obtained from sunlight and certain foods and unless you have a poor diet and spend all day in a darkened room your vit D levels will be fine.Moderate sunbathing can help certain skin conditions, such as psoriasis and pimples. Try boosting the circulation in your spotty areas by using a body scrub or loofah when you bathe or shower. I sometimes have this problem but only in winter when my lower half is permanently encased in trousers or thick tights. Once the weather warms up and I wear lighter clothes and get some fresh air to my bod, the problem disappears. Try not to let it get you down.
It sounds like you have Keratosis Pilaris which is very common indeed. See here for more info or google it.

I get this on my upper arms and legs too, the most common advice I've read on it is the usual boring stuff like loads of water, more fruit & veg, cutting down on salt, sugar, fat, caffeine, smoking, alcohol etc, and plenty of exercise.

Regular exfoliation and moisturising will help....a wee sunbathe does help (for whatever reason, it just does!)...and this is bad, bad advice but if it's really getting you down, using a sunbed will help quickly (although sunbeds are really bad and I would only recommend that as a quick fix for a special occasion or to boost your spirits while you start doing all the other stuff!)

I find that I get this on my upper arms and sometimes upper legs - a bit like permanent 'goose-pimples' - mainly in the winter. A girlfriend once told me it was "lack of air" to the skin, exacerbated by heavier clothing in the winter. She gave me a loofah & using that regularly on my upper arms when I shower soon gets rid of the problem & I soon have smooth skin again. As the gay Dalek once said..."exfoliate......exfoliate....."
Me and my daughters have it, it runs in families and although it isn't problematic in terms of sore itchy etc we find it unsightly. I have never had treatment, but after reading that Americans who have it insist on treatment, I took my daughter to GP who reffered to dermatologist and I explained I'd read on the internet that treatment was available etc, and they were happy with this, they prescribed Retin A gel which is a strong ingredient of anti -aging creams, and helps renew the skin cells faster, it really helped, but she needs to go back to GP for another lot we will get round to it some time! Exfoliation, microdermabrasion cloths & the sun do help as well.
Oh well i dont know what to say!!!! Are you sure that it aint no rash? Have u wen tto da doctor to see what it mite be? The only thing i kno that cos them on me is when i shave my legs..

Its definatly not what the link takes you too, although i do thank all your replies, it has no colour, just skin colour as normal, its just lifestyle i think, I feel that it is being cooped up with winter clothes on, i also just though, I said the sun seemed to clear it up but if we think about it, we are actually getting air to our skin on holiday...!! so it could be just the air..

Sorry accidently pressed twice !
regular exfoliating and moisturising. as you say cooped up under woolly jumpers the skin is not 'happy' do this a couple of times a week minimum but throughout the year and sure you will be fine.
