Caring for hair extensions

I have just had synthetic hair extensions to cover up a disastrous hair cut - total nightmare cried for hours!

I have bought the conditioning spray and the collapsable brush suggested, but I still find that the extensions are getting tangled and matted. I brush them through a couple of times a day, and end up pulling quite a lot of the strands out each time (even though I do it gently)

Does anyone have any suggestions for caring for these extensions?

Thanks!

get a wide tooth comb for brushing!!! shouldnt pull as much.

Also before you wash them smooth a haro serum over them leave for ten mins the wash as normal and blow dry - should keep them soft and lovely!!
ping i have clip in hair exstentions
so i know wat u mean i think u should ask ur hairdresser , real hair exstetnions need to be washed very carefuly and the bonds MUST be dried i think it was very drastic of you to get these to cover a bad hair cut , i changed my mind cos of the cost u do know you ares upposed to use speacial products to care for hair exst , and it can be very damaging to your real hair xx

redhead - got good advice from hairdresser which is why i bought the conditioning spray and proper brush. i didn't choose these extensions lightly (due to cost) but don't regret it one bit as hair was beyond rescuing.

nannon - thanks for the advice, will try hair serum tonight.
