Adding a name to the title deeds

When I met my husband I moved in to his property which he owned outright. Now that we are married he would like the property to be registered in both our names on a joint tenancy basis.
On contacting the Land Registry they advised us to complete forms TR1 and AP1. TR1 refers to 'transfer of whole registered title' and I am concerned that completion of this will result in my name being added but my husband's name being removed. Can anyone advise please. Many thanks

Hi, Form TR1 is the right form. This will have the effect of transferring the property from the sole name of your husband to your joint names. In the box "Transferor" you would put just your husband's name, and in the "Transferee" box you would put both your name and your husband's, thus transferring the property into your joint names :)
