carpet cleaner

Hi I have a vax carpet shampooer which cleans the carpets great, but how do i clean the cleaner?

Great cleaner.
I too have problems cleaning the water reservoir.
All I have done so far is to remove the filler and flush through with cold water. After a time it does clear but there is always residue left in difficult to reach corners.

The unit is only screwed together so I can only suppose, and it appears, all parts are accessible once dismantled but it looks quite a long job and I haven't gathered the courage to attempt it yet.
