We just got a new hotpoint aquarius washing machine. I've just set it up and turned it to the setting it tells you to when you are first using the machine. However, I've noticed that the glass on the door is very hot to touch, and feels like it may even hurt a childs hand. Is this normal?

If its doing a boil wash first of course it is going to get hot.

I thought it might be supposed to be insulated in some way perhaps, so that it would remain cool. But of couurse it isn't.
Most washes these days are 40 or 50 - even 30.
Kiddies should be safe with that.
