Not my cup of tea, but an adequate motor. Was "T" reg (1999 ish) when Rover was owned by BMW?? If so, quality control would have been better than tradional Rovers.

My only advice though is I doubt there will be much difference between a 2.5 and a 2.0 litre UNLESS you want torque for pulling a caravan. The acceleration and overall power will probably feel the same to the casual driver. However, the insurance and tax may be higher and the petrol considerably much more.

If you are on a strict budget, this should be a factor.
the rover 75 does drink a lot !! be warned!

I used to own a rover 800, lovely car but drank the same amount as a 75 which is a lot, I would drive and look at the petrol gauge at the same time!!!
hi its classy but can we still make babies in the back ? , get a nova knobbs it will suit u more lover x
I only drive autos and they are heavier on petrol that the manuals but I won't drive anything else.
there are a lot of little auto's now though, ford and peugeot make a lot of autos, rover only make a lot of auto's in the 75 range, they are hard to come by for smaller rovers, and you might as well forget getting an MG auto!!
That is true dotty but looking at the spec it does have "economy mode". Not quite sure what that is though. I agree, my latest car is Automatic (no choice) and I love it. Such lazy driving is a pleasure!!!!

It is the 2.5 litres that will burn the fuel like no tomorrow.

Knobby, if you give me what EXACTLY you want I shall recommend alternatives.

PRICE
# of Doors
Saloon estate or hatch
Auto or manual

Am not worried about the juice that it consumes am used to cars that do around 19 miles to the gallon and insurance is not a prob as last car was a ford cosworth with a 2.9 engine and only cost 350 a year to insure fully com but after years of driving fords I think it is time for me to move to something different.
Would love a new shape jag but cant afford it as you have not had a whip round for me yet have you.
Joe the specs are has to look a bit classy have air con,cd player with ipod connection, auto as I am lazy cruise control and of course alloy wheels.
Oh and an engine might come in handy as well
Then it sounds perfect for you!!!!

I must admit the spec is very high.
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO

Forget the last. It is a typo from the seller.

How odd a "professional" would make should a basic error.

do not under any circumstances buy a rover 75 or any rover ever at any price even if your life depended on it, they are by some margin the biggest pile of junk ever created by human hand an absolute atrocity
