Belkin Wireless G Router setup?

hi i bought a router 4 my Laptop which is on windows vista basic and 4 this reason it wont automatically setup,i really avent a clue how 2 do it manually as im quite new 2 the game lol so can anybody plz give me any clues on how 2 sort this out manually? any help wud be much appreciated cheers.

What model router is it? Is it compatible with Vista?

yeah the man in the shop said its compatible with vista its a belkin wireless G router 802.11g 2.4GHz if thats any help

yeah av followed all instructions from startup disk but when its bout 2 install a notice appears sayin the laptop cant install this router automatically and it must be done manually! basically because its vista im on, the router installation disk cant find the vista software 2 match it because the router was made in 2005 an vista is new,i just dnt av a clue how 2 manually set it up basically.

I know nothing of Vista unfortunately.

You would do better posting this in the technology section.

And say who your internet provider is - cable (virgin) or DSL.
