if i were to buy and sell second hand dvd's, cd's, and computer games for my own profit, would i be breaking any laws and would i have to pay royalties to the companies that produced them in the first place.
(the laws on copyrights seem to be rather grey)

Provided the goods are in their original state -no.

No royalties payable,.
If they are the originals and if they are second hand then i don't think so as the royalties have already been paid when they were bought brand new from authorised dealers.
