Smiley faces

Every time I send my son a text message it arrives plus a smiley face. I have never added a face to a message in my life. No other messages I send anywhere else have this problem and no other messages my son receives do either.

Any ideas why this is happening?

What phone do you both have??

Do you end your text with 3 dots (eg ...)? Some phones will automatically show this as a smiley!

Could you have set the default message template to include a smiley face at the bottom?
If so just play around with the template options until it dissapears.
