Please can you help, is there such a thing that I can iron inside a t shirt to stop it scratching my daughter? let me explain.............she has the most wonderful t-shirt with lots of embroidery and beads sewn on but where all the cotton is knotted underneath from the embellishment it really scratches her, it's a summer top so she cant wear a vest under. She had a top like this a while ago but it had like a fine mesh layer ironed over all the underneath so it felt smooth. It looked like wonder-web but I am at a loss with what to try. Are there any miracle iron on thingy's? Many thanks fuzzybee x
if the design is just on the front, just get a piece of material - a hankie would be good, or even a duster - and put a small stich in each of the 4 corners, hiding the stitches in amongst the pattern.
if the top is tight and the edges of the cloth will show through, try overlocking a piece of thin material, and doing as above
You can buy either iron-on or sew on interlining but check it's the washable one, I think it's made by Vilene and you can buy it in most haberdashers. If you live near a John Lewis store they will probably stock it.
Thank you for your answers, I was actually hoping for some sort of iron on stuff so thank you moonshadow but why I didn't think of just sewing in a piece of cloth is beyond me !! well done Joko.
