If it's an electric one, then there is a reservoir at the bottom normally underneath a flat tray thing which you fill with water. You then put the food in the baskets, switch on at plug and then turn the dial around to set the steaming time, it should ping and let you know when it is finished. You don't have to put all the baskets on unless you need that many. Try to arrange the food in a single layer otherwise it won't cook properly. It does create a lot of steam ( I know it sounds obvious, but I acquired mine from someone who didn't realise the amount of steam generated and wasn't happy with it) some of which will escape from the machine so don't use it directly under kitchen cabinets etc. When the cooking is finished, any excess water in the reservoir needs to be emptied out. I think that is basically all you need although different foods will need different cooking times, it might help to Google and see if it comes up with specific times for the food you wish to cook. If you have any more questions, I'll try to help :)
