we have a new cannon cooker with a double oven. whilst the top oven is reasonably accurate the big oven is 15 degrees cooler than the rotary control states... should I get grumpy with the manufacturer? or is this expected tollerence?...

Where abouts in the oven did you measure it? If it's a fan oven then in theory it's all roughly the same, but standard ones will vary drastically.

Have you tested it with at least 3 thermometers from different manufacturers as those can be way out. We once tested one with 3 supposedly similar ones and they all gave different readings.

Finally the temp will go up and down depending whether the oven is actively heating at that time you check it.

Thanks for the answers... temp measured right in the centre of the fan oven with the heat stable and two diff thermoms.. nearest measurement was 10deg cool. I understand this is within expected tollerances so thanks both
