Clearly you cannot jump start an artic with a mini but in normal cars this is irrelevant. MAke sure that the leads are connected properly and the terminals are tight. Increase revs on the donor car to in excess of 1500rpm to ensure that the donor car is drawing from its alternator and has an excess available beyond it 12v battery. Then turn the dead one over. B4 check the cells of the battery, if they are dry hen the battery is cooked and the plates are probably buckled and shorted. Endex battrey and a bill from halfords for you.
Thanks for your replies folks, very helpful.
I went to Halfords,got a new battery.When I connected it up
the alarm started and would not stop till I disconnected it
Thieveshad stolen the drivers side mirror, which was the
heated type.I trimmed the bare wires back to the plastic sleeve and used electrical tape to bind them and make
safe,would that cause the problem?
Don't know what to do now.
