Why does the water in my Triton T80si Extra electric shower keep stopping? We don't live in an area that is bad for limescale and the problem only happens infrequently. Any ideas?

Hey my electric shower does that aswell!! But mine sticks and stays on! I turn it off and it comes back on by itself and won't switch off, I have to then go down into the garage and flip a switch. I wonder if it's a fault with some electric showers?
It could be that the water is getting too hot. Electric showers are usually fitted with thermostatic valves to regulate the temperature. If the water pressure fluctuates or the temperature changes too much the valve will shut off to protect you from scalding. However this may not be the reason for your problem but if it only does it every so often then it may be that.
It might be worth taking the shower head off and making sure there's no build up of limescale in there. Sometimes it can reduce the water flow which can make showers shut off.

Like the idea about a thermostat shut off, as it is an upstairs shower and there may be fluctuations in water pressure. Would the same be the case for the shower running cold for no good reason?
