Printers help needed

Help!! I have been given a windows Xp which is fine, after my old, slow windows 98, but when I went to print something on my HP Officejet R45 I was unable to, as the new computer was connected to a Lexmark Z11. I used my printer cd to install HP etc and got a message this printer is incompatible with this computer - what can I do??? Thanks in advance for any help.

download new xp drivers from the printer manufacturers web site.
