For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.It certainly is Satsuma, I'd say, Apricot. Chambers Dictionary defines 'Satsuma ware' as: "a yellowish pottery with gilding and enamel made in Satsuma from the end of the 16th century."
In addition, Satsuma certainly was a province at one time. In 1871, the old system of provinces was replaced by one consisting of prefectures. Satsuma is now part of Kagoshima Prefecture. Everything seems to fit.
